Myrrh is mine, its bitter perfume Breathes a life of gathering gloom; Sorrowing, sighing, bleeding, dying, Sealed in the stone cold tomb.
O star of wonder, star of light, Star with royal beauty bright, Westward leading, still proceeding, Guide us to thy perfect light. |

we snowshoed up by mills lake this afternoon - had to buy new snowpants yesterday because we let ours in denver, and our jeans got soaking wet on the short trek we took when we first got here. our little cabin room has a real wood fireplace and last night we watched white christmas before bed. we got almost to the lake but the wind coming down between the mountains was so fierce we had to turn around. we sat in the car and had hummus i made and carrots and bread, warming our fingers by the vents. now we're heating potato chowder for dinner :) |

i finally got my machine back, so i have been sewing madly! and then lara and brock came over to get the keys so lara can feed and water our cats, and i was trying to clean the stovetop before they came, and i burnt my fingers, and now my right index finger has a blister on it, and my fingertips feel very odd. i am ridiculous. my parent's quilt is mostly done, just stitching the binding now, and i made pillows for braxton's grandmother & his aunt. tomorrow we are going to estes park for a couple nights; i hope we see many elk! and bighorn sheep. we've only seen them once here, by the highway very briefly. braxton is watching the searchers now & our neighbor's grey cat is sitting outside our front door, & yesterday when i was sewing i watched penny serenade with cary grant and irene dunn and it was very sweet. maybe love affair next, with rose congou and spoonfuls of honey. the light is already exiting. |

it is freaking cold. 4 degrees fahrenheit. braxton is feeling sick so i took the bus forever away and dropped my sewing machine off at the repair place. the guy won't be there till thursday but fingers crossed i get it back soon, otherwise i'll be finishing the quilt for my parents on my mom's machine... not ideal.

it is freezing cold but i wanted a sundae but the ice cream shop is closed. braxton had a skype interview so i couldn't go home; i wandered about goodwill and then got paper towels at walgreen's. it is 9 degrees fahrenheit right now. we're having chili later, and i'm looking for a place to stay for one night on fall river road in estes park, to go out & do hiking/maybe snowshoeing. my sewing machine is still broken; we're taking it to the repair shop tomorrow.
i got this gothic at the book mall a couple days ago; look at the awesome drawings someone made in it:

STREAMFLOW CONDITIONS: EXHIBITION & EVENT DETAILS
Streamflow Conditions** is an online exhibition of electronic literature and networked writing curated by Judd Morrissey at the invitation of Subito Press at the University of Colorado. Beginning with a site-specific consideration of the Colorado landscape and its engineered waterways, the selection of works examines discrete markers in the contemporary data-scape of writing within networked culture. The artists and works chosen each represent an innovative use of language in conjunction with code, data, or networked spaces. The exhibition as a whole engages the overflowing boundaries between presence, process, and object at a time when currents of digital literary practice meet the culture and corpus of writing online (& the imminent google waves).
**gallery of works still under construction but please explore the site.
